Benedetta Faucci stands out for her double interest in music and painting; both arts are inseparable and almost represent her reason of life and existence.

Benedetta is in the first place a Soprano; as such her pictures are influenced by a world of sounds, voices and
words. Her passion for the great lights and shadows, characterizing the Baroque age of the 16 th and 17 th centuries, creates a sense of belonging to a historical, artistic and cultural period and is reflected in the shapes and colours of her pictorial language.

The care to create an image through a design, the evident fondness for the black colour, sumptuous backlight in its warm and brown shades, represent the main features of her painting, mainly based on the pose of the subject; the human presence is seen as a leading actor, thus giving a theatrical image.

All this reminds us the expressive side of this artist, that is the Melodrama, with the relevant contrasts between the high and low notes, the lightness and gravity that give a visual sensation to the meaning of music.

Figures half-hidden by a darkness with transparencies revealing a space, a side-scene lying behind, the black colour which in this chiaroscuro strengthens the brightness of the naked bodies.

Benedetta Faucci focuses on the nude as a reference subject, a model of outstanding beauty or, maybe a nostalgia towards the classical world, a guide to her own interpretation.
